Space to Heal. Strength to Grow.
You might be functioning on the outside — working, parenting, keeping things going — but inside things feel heavier than they should.
Perhaps you’re feeling anxious, low, burnt out, or overwhelmed. You might be overthinking, struggling with work pressure, relationship difficulties, or navigating a significant life change such as loss or separation. For some, past or historic experiences may also be shaping how things feel now.
From the outside, it might look like you’re coping — but inside, something doesn’t feel right.
I offer a calm, supportive space where we can begin to make sense of things together.
If something here resonates, you’re welcome to book a free 20-minute consultation to see if this feels like the right next step for you.
I’m Gurpal Bharj, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Burnham, Buckinghamshire (SL1), offering in-person and online counselling.
I work with adults and young people aged 14+, supporting people from all walks of life who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or finding things difficult at the moment.
My approach is grounded in person-centred counselling. I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where you can talk freely and explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Rather than advising or directing you, I work alongside you with empathy and understanding, helping you to make sense of your experiences in a way that feels genuine and meaningful.
As a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within a professional ethical framework to ensure our work together is safe, respectful, and supportive.
You might be struggling with past or present challenges. You don’t need to fit into a category or have everything clearly defined — we can begin wherever you are. I have supported clients with various difficulties, including but not limited to:
Emotional wellbeing
Relationships and family
Life experiences and change
Work and pressure
Trauma and deeper experiences
Additional challenges

I offer a calm, confidential space where I bring congruence to develop an authentic counselling relationship with my clients. I work from my practice in Burnham, Buckinghamshire (SL1), and also offer online counselling across the UK.

My approach is person-centred, which means I won’t advise or direct you — instead, I’ll work alongside you with care and understanding, helping you explore your experiences and make sense of things in your own empowering way. I offer short-term and long-term work and we can discuss what works for you.

Acknowledging that you could benefit from support can feel daunting, but it can also bring a sense of relief that you no longer have to carry it all alone. I am here to support you in taking that first step.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can talk a little about what has brought you to counselling and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
Sessions cost from £60 and last 50 minutes (in-person or online).
I offer short and long-term counselling. Please note, sessions need to be paid in full at least 24 hours before your session time, and further details on the Payment Policy will be provided should you choose to work together.
Note that if you need to cancel an appointment I require 24 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed.
